~shadow box challenges

ah, the third shadow box arrived brimming with luscious goodies and the contents continue to challenge and delight. here, a knotted choker of color, color color from ~shipwreckdandy~ a serious departure from my norm i feel this piece is.

then some earrings made with criffles ~numinosity beads~ sporting polymer clay beads from the box.

more box beads. the red ones came along with the wire touch already added. so i paired them with yummy pink glass. it's nice that many of the gals who added to the box added in twos.

and finally a large turquoise bead from box number one found a home at the bottom of this necklace. eeee, this took me some time as i chain connected vintage glass beads. unusual mixture of texture. cool to the touch.

  1. Guess which ones I like the best, hehe. I'm in favor of the more subtle ones. I like how your necklace is hanging on that there expertly decorated bust. very nice.

  2. Nice! I love how you used the lampwork and nice glass pink ones I stuck in. I have soooooo much lampwork. Those wired red ones have been hanging out forever just waiting to be paired with the exact right thing--so glad you were able to use them.

I am always about pairs of beads because I make so many earrings. I can't wait to see what else you and others make. Hopefully people will post photos. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Oh, thanks. If you're interested, the things I recognize here as originating with me are: those square lampwork ones that you mentioned (dollar bead), the red wedding cake lampwork on wires (one of those walmart $9 mixed Indian glass bead grab bags) the pink glass (can't remember where I got those;) the lumpy white vintage plastic beads, and the tubular filigree connectors (reconstructionism on Etsy. Great shop.)

Seeing how people use things on beads and things that I've been looking at for years is really my favorite part about the trades we do. We should really make some kind of blog hop to go along with it--what do you think? Maybe start with a fresh box? God knows I've got enough to start another. But I don't really know how a blog hop works.

Anyway, thanks for showing your stuff!

    1. Oh, I missed a couple: the colorful splotches on black glass beads on the choker are from Roberta Supplies on Etsy.
